\"\"The Mitato of Amorgos participated in the 4th<\/sup>\u00a0Islanders\u2019 Forum<\/strong> which was successfully organised by\u00a0the Cyclades Preservation Fund (CPF)<\/a>\u00a0on the island of Paros, from 28 to 30 October 2022.<\/p>\n

The Forum was attended by 45 participants, representing 30 organisations from 17 islands, from the Cyclades and beyond.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The presentations realised during the first two days aimed at introducing the people and organisations present to each other, as we are all tied with common problems and visions, in order to create the ground for further discussion, exchange of ideas and the generation of synergies.<\/strong> The lectures also included the presentation of tools for better liaising and connection between the participating organisations, as well as proposals and financing suggestions for environmental and cultural initiatives.<\/p>\n

Apart from the works of the Forum, participants had the chance to visit the\u00a0Aegean Wildlife Hospital \u201cAlkyoni\u201d<\/a>, the Paros Park<\/a>, where we walked through the hiking routes and learned about the nature and history of the area, as well as the ancient marble quarries in Marathi.<\/p>\n

We would like to wholeheartedly thank the organisers for the excellent hospitality and organisation, as well as the volunteering hosts at the points we visited: Alkyoni, Association of Friends of Paros Park and the\u00a0Cultural Centre of Paros \u201cArchilochos\u201d.<\/a>.<\/p>\n
